Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever consider cancelling a GMM. However, given the circumstances with COVID-19, we have many concerned members calling. Although we are working with all the employers on this, I feel we should lead by example and put our money where our mouth is. Health and Safety must be paramount.
In light of the above, I am informing all members that in the best interest of all our members the executive board have decided to cancel the March 19, 2020, General Membership meeting.
Additionally, as President, I am taking extra precaution for the elected members and members as a whole. Until we gain more information, I have advised board members to limit meetings. If the meeting is not urgent, we will try to reschedule. Please note that elected members will continue working. Furthermore, the hall will only be open to members on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice. We can be still be reached by phone Monday to Friday during regular business hours.
In the event that you cannot reach your respective chair at 705-560-4705 please contact them on their cell phone. Phone numbers and e-mails are posted at www.cupesudbury.org.
I know that these are frustrating times and there are many unanswered questions. Please know that we are working with all the employers that we have Collective agreements with to find ways that work for both the employer and put health and safety at the forefront for our members.
Should ANYONE have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate in contacting me.
